Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 15, 2026

QuantView (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates LookScroll. This Privacy Policy explains how the LookScroll app and our related infrastructure handle your information when you use the app.

Face data (App Review): For Apple’s Face Data questions (Guideline 2.1), see Section 15 — Face Data Policy, the quotable summary at Section 15.6, and the TrueDepth / ARKit Q&A at Section 15.7.

1. Data we process

Depending on how you use LookScroll, we or your device may process the following categories:

2. Face scan: in-app consent (Accept & Continue vs. Decline & Continue)

In-app consent (before cloud AI). Before any selfie is sent for cloud AI processing, LookScroll shows an in-app disclosure sheet that explains what data is collected, who receives it (QuantView and Anthropic, PBC / Claude), and why. You can choose:

Your choice is stored on your device. You can change it later in Settings (toggle for cloud AI face scan). Declining cloud AI does not block you from finishing onboarding or using other app features that do not require cloud face analysis.

Two report paths. The cloud AI report (Accept) uses QuantView infrastructure and Anthropic as described below. The on-device report (Decline) is computed entirely on your iPhone/iPad and is not identical to the cloud-enhanced analysis, but still provides scores and guidance without transmitting your photo for cloud AI.

Exercise verification is separate. Rep counting and exercise verification use the camera on-device only and do not upload your video or photos for that purpose (see Section 3).

Our servers. When you accept cloud AI and use the cloud face report, our backend receives the JPEG only to perform the analysis and return results to the app. Face images are deleted from our servers after the analysis response is sent to your app; we do not retain face scan image files on our servers after each request completes. Processing may use memory only during the request. We do not sell your face images.

Anthropic. Our backend may send the image to Anthropic’s API so Claude can analyze it. Where Anthropic’s API and our agreement allow, we configure requests so that your content is processed only to return the analysis to you and is not used to train Anthropic’s models. Where the Anthropic Messages API supports it, we also configure requests so that the conversation is not stored for later retrieval (for example, using API parameters that disable storing the message, where available). Anthropic’s own handling of inputs and outputs is governed by their policies; please read Anthropic’s Privacy Policy. Commercial terms such as Zero Data Retention, if applicable, are contractual matters between QuantView and Anthropic.

If the app ever calls Anthropic directly from the device (for example in development or fallback configurations), similar non-storage settings are applied where supported. Your primary production path may use our backend.

3. Camera usage

The camera is used for: (a) optional face scans for the AI report, after you provide consent as described above; (b) TrueDepth / ARKit–based guided scanning with a real-time on-device mesh overlay (see Section 15); and (c) real-time exercise verification (on-device only, no upload of those frames for verification).

4. Local storage on your device

Scores, settings, task history, and similar data are stored on your device using Apple’s standard storage (e.g. UserDefaults and the app sandbox). A file for your last face scan image may exist only in app storage until you delete the app or clear relevant data in the app.

5. Screen Time and app blocking

LookScroll uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls APIs so you can select apps to block. Apple’s systems manage authorization and enforcement according to iOS.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed by Apple (StoreKit). We may use RevenueCat to manage and validate subscription status. We do not receive your payment card details through the app.

7. Third parties

We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party ad tracking in the app for profiling. Services that may receive or process data in connection with LookScroll include:

Anthropic’s privacy policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

8. Data sharing and sale of data

We do not sell your personal information. Face scan images are transmitted to our backend and Anthropic only when you tap Accept & Continue and request the cloud AI report. We do not use your face scan for advertising. Subscription-related identifiers flow through Apple (and RevenueCat as applicable) under their terms.

9. Retention

On your device: App data remains until you uninstall the app or use reset/delete options inside the app, where available.

On our servers: Face images are deleted from our servers after the analysis response is returned to your app. We do not keep face scan image files on our servers after each request completes.

Anthropic: Retention and use of content sent to Anthropic’s API are described in Anthropic’s documentation and privacy policy. We configure requests to avoid unnecessary storage where the API allows, and so that content is not used for model training where applicable under Anthropic’s API and our agreement.

10. Security

We use HTTPS between the app and our backend where applicable. You should keep your device secure and use the latest iOS version supported by the app.

11. Children’s privacy

LookScroll is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Your choices and data deletion

You can stop cloud AI face analysis by tapping Decline & Continue when prompted, or by turning off the cloud AI face scan option in Settings. On-device analysis may still run when you scan without cloud consent. Notification permission is requested separately after you subscribe (not during onboarding); you can decline and change notification settings in iOS Settings or in the app. You can remove data stored on your device by uninstalling the app or using reset/delete options inside the app, where available.

13. International users

If you use the app from outside the country where our servers are located, your information may be processed in those locations. By using the service, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred as needed to provide the features you choose.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes may mean you accept the updated policy; if required by law, we will seek additional consent.

15. Face Data Policy (App Store Review — Apple Guideline 2.1)

This section answers how LookScroll collects, uses, shares, stores, and retains face-related data, including TrueDepth / ARKit face tracking and optional still-image analysis. You may quote this section in App Store Connect review notes.

15.1 What face data does the app collect?

We distinguish two categories:

We do not collect a separate “Face ID” template from Apple’s authentication system. We do not use ARKit to derive a persistent unique face identifier for advertising.

15.2 All planned uses of collected face data

15.3 Is face data shared with third parties? Where is it stored?

We do not sell face images. We do not use face scan images for third-party advertising.

15.4 How long is face data retained?

15.5 Where in this privacy policy is face data explained?

Face-related processing is covered in: Section 1 (summary), Section 2 (consent, cloud AI path, Anthropic, what is not uploaded), Section 3 (camera), Section 4 (local storage), Section 7 (third parties), Section 8 (sharing), Section 9 (retention), Section 12 (your choices), and this Section 15 (consolidated Face Data Policy for App Review), including Section 15.7 (TrueDepth / ARKit Q&A for Guideline 2.1).

15.6 Quotable text (Face Data — for Apple Review)

Face Data (LookScroll). The app uses TrueDepth / ARKit on the device for live mesh overlay and head pose during guided scanning; that live stream is not uploaded. Before cloud AI, the app shows a consent sheet with Accept & Continue or Decline & Continue. If you accept, still JPEGs may be sent over HTTPS to QuantView’s backend and Anthropic (Claude) for the cloud AI report. If you decline, no photo is sent for cloud AI; analysis stays on-device (Vision / ARKit geometry). Exercise verification is on-device only. Last scan image and scores may be stored in the app sandbox. Server-side face images are deleted after the cloud analysis response, as in Section 9.

15.7 TrueDepth / ARKit — answers to Apple Guideline 2.1 (Information Needed)

The following statements describe how LookScroll uses Apple’s face-tracking APIs on supported hardware. They are intended for App Store Review and may be copied into Resolution Center replies.

What information does the app collect using the TrueDepth API?

On supported iPhones, the app runs ARKit ARFaceTrackingConfiguration (SceneKit ARSCNView) to obtain a live ARFaceAnchor and camera frames. From that pipeline the app derives real-time face pose (e.g. head orientation / yaw) and blend-shape coefficients where needed for on-device exercise counting, plus a rendered 3D face mesh overlay for user guidance. The app does not read Apple’s separate Face ID biometric enrollment template. The app does not open AVCaptureDevice.DeviceType.builtInTrueDepthCamera as a standalone capture device; TrueDepth is engaged indirectly through ARKit face tracking, which is Apple’s supported path for this feature class.

For what purposes is this information collected?

Will the data be shared with third parties? Where is it stored?

Live TrueDepth / ARKit stream: Processed on-device in real time. We do not upload a continuous stream of ARFaceAnchor geometry, depth maps, or per-frame mesh vertices to our servers.

Optional still images (JPEG) for the AI looksmax report: Only if you tap Accept & Continue in the in-app consent sheet, the app may send one or more still JPEGs over HTTPS to infrastructure we operate so the structured report can be generated; that path may involve Anthropic (Claude) as a processor solely to return analysis to the app, as disclosed in Section 2 and Section 15.3. If you tap Decline & Continue, those JPEGs are not sent for cloud AI.

Local storage: The app may store your last scan image and numeric/text results in the iOS app sandbox for display inside the app.

Standalone paragraph (website / policy excerpt)

TrueDepth & ARKit. LookScroll uses Apple’s ARKit face tracking on compatible iPhones to display a real-time 3D face mesh overlay, estimate head pose, and (where applicable) read ARKit blend-shape data to count facial exercises on your device. This live face-tracking data is processed locally and is not transmitted to our servers as a continuous stream. The app does not access the Face ID enrollment template. If you tap Accept & Continue for the optional cloud “looksmax” report, the app may transmit one or more still face images (JPEG) over HTTPS for analysis and may involve Anthropic (Claude) solely to generate the report returned to the app, as described in the full Privacy Policy. Exercise verification frames used for on-device checks are not uploaded for that verification purpose.
